Boyd Norton's

Wilderness Photography Workshops

Photo Tours/Safaris to Tanzania, Peru

Boyd was a pioneer in the nature and outdoor photography workshop field. He conducted his first photo workshop in 1973 in Idaho, a combined photo learning experience with a white water rafting adventure on the Middle Fork and Main Salmon Rivers. Now his workshops are as popular as ever and are worldwide in scope, covering some of the most exciting locales for photographers. Groups are kept small in number, never more than 14 people, with opportunity for lots of personal attention.

Boyd is the foremost photographic expert on Africa, having made more than 40 trips there. He has spent almost 800 days in the Serengeti ecosystem alone and he knows all the secret places for the greatest photographic opportunities. He is the author/photographer of three books on African subjects, with two more under contract and due for release by his publisher in late 2007 (one of them is on Serengeti). He has also made numerous trips to Bali, Borneo, Komodo Island, Peru, Galapagos, Siberia, , Belize, Venezuela and other workshop locales.

These workshops provide you the perfect opportunity to add some unique coverage to your stock photo files. And with the small group size Boyd is able to provide a lot of individual attention to help you with your photo needs. In addition, Boyd's  presentations during the workshops include topics ranging from picture dynamics to marketing your photos.

Remember: these workshops may be tax deductible for you.

Some comments from past participants:

"Your trip was magical, adventurous and safe. We felt so cared for."  Carl and Marsha Calfin, Michigan

"Boyd was the key to the total success of this trip. His many years of travel there and the contacts he has, made it so very special. This was not your typical tour of Africa. I cannot say enough about Boyd - his knowledge of the country, his very pleasant personality, his contacts, his relationship with Unique Safaris and their staff, and on and on. You won't find anyone better. I truly hope to travel with him again in the future."  (He has, five more times.) Bill Kocsi, New Jersey

"Boyd Norton: He is a great group leader, especially for Tanzania. He knows the area and the people so well that makes everything smooth. Boyd also arranges to leave early each morning to catch the best light for photography, which is great for me."  Shun Cheung and Louisa Mak, California

"Great pictures, great animals, great guides and great memories!" L.F. and Marbrey Van Landingham, Texas

It's the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth. Each year, from January through June, the Serengeti Plains are filled with up to 1.5 million wildebeest and 500,000 zebras. And, of course, numerous predators. It is like seeing (and photographing) the world when it was young. We also spend time in Ngorongoro Crater.

These trips are designed especially for serious photographers, with only three people in large Land Cruisers to give maximum space for equipment and shooting.
